We Love The Mediterranean Diet!

Lovelife is heavily influenced by the Mediterranean diet and way of life. Our travels around the area have led to the discovery of some amazing independent restaurants, cafes and bars that have shaped our passion for this project.

The Mediterranean diet is a way of eating that is based on the traditional cuisine of the countries that surround the Mediterranean Sea, such as Greece, Italy, and Spain. This diet emphasises whole, minimally processed foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds, and includes moderate amounts of fish, poultry, and dairy, while limiting red meat and processed foods.

The Mediterranean diet has been associated with numerous health benefits, such as reducing the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer. The diet is rich in anti-inflammatory foods, healthy fats such as olive oil and fatty fish, and antioxidants such as fruits and vegetables, which can help protect against cellular damage and chronic diseases.

Additionally, the Mediterranean diet is not just about the food you eat, but also the way you eat.The diet emphasises enjoying meals with others, savouring each bite, and avoiding overeating. This mindful approach to eating can help promote a healthier relationship with food and reduce the risk of overeating and weight gain.

Overall, the Mediterranean diet is a delicious and nutritious way of eating that is associated with numerous health benefits. By incorporating more whole, minimally processed foods into your diet and adopting a mindful approach to eating, you can improve your health and well-being in a delicious and sustainable way.
